Congratulations on your engagement! We're excited to celebrate with you as you enter into the life-long journey of marriage.
Weddings hosted here at North Lonsdale involve more than just the big day—we want to partner with you as you take this big step in your relationship and to offer prayer, guidance, and support. The first step is to set up a meeting with our minister, who will spend some time with you as a couple to get to know you, give you an orientation about marriage within the Christian tradition, and to start the conversation about marriage preparation.
We require all couples planning to be married at North Lonsdale to participate in formal marriage preparation. This normally takes place via a series of couple sessions with the minister leading up to the wedding date, in which a variety of topics related to communication, couple formation, spiritual beliefs, etc. are explored. If you desire to pursue an alternative method of marriage preparation, this will need to be discussed with minister at the initial orientation meeting.
As Christians, we believe that marriage is an expression of a loving and caring relationship between two people, regardless of gender, and we support same-sex marriage on that basis.
