Our Ministries

Worship

We strive to create a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging environment where music, preaching and discipleship lead us to genuine growth in relationship with God and each other.

We include both traditional and contemporary music in our worship, led and accompanied by a team of talented musicians playing a variety of instruments.

We seek for our worship at North Lonsdale to be authentic, participatory, and inter-generational as followers of Christ in this world.

“And he said to them, ‘Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.’” – Mark 16: 15

Bible Studies

It is through God’s Word that we learn to live a life pleasing to God and useful to our fellow humans.  The truths of the Bible are, to paraphrase the words of the apostle Paul, the foundation upon which we can build our lives, relationships with others and with God.

These truths, however, will remain locked up unless we open the treasure chest of God’s Word and read and study and absorb these truths.  That is the purpose of regular and focussed Bible study.

The Bible study notes posted on this website are there for anyone and everyone to access and to use in their personal Bible reading and study time or can be used as notes for a small group Bible study.

We invite you to participate.  May God bless you as you read and study.

Kids

We believe that our youth and children are not only the future; they are our ‘present’.

Our passion is to strengthen relationships and build connections to each other, our community, and our Lord. We want to encourage and facilitate activities that engage all generations in the congregation and the wider community, and that make a difference in our lives and the lives of others.

Our Sunday School Curriculum, led by a group of caring volunteers, encompasses seasonal themes, Bible stories, Bible studies, liturgical knowledge, and outreach projects.

We love to have babies, young children and families in our service! But parents with young children are also welcome to visit the nursery to relax or play there if they prefer. While there, they will be able to view the service in progress, via a TV monitor. The nursery is conveniently located close to the sanctuary - ask one of our hosts to show you the way!

Youth

We are very fortunate to have Keith Williams looking after our Youth Ministry!

The NLUC Youth Ministry strives to provide and facilitate regular, meaningful and successful youth and pre-teen activities in the church and the community, and also to foster, develop and facilitate youth-driven initiatives.

We are:

  • A group of people committed to providing safe opportunities for youth to find a ‘place’ within our community and in Mission with Christ.
  • A Christ-centered congregation that is seeking to find ways God can use us to make a difference in our community and in the world.
  • A warm, active and caring ‘family’ that strives to be a safe place for people of all ages to question, develop and grow in their faith.

Feel free to contact Keith if you have any questions. [email protected]

Adults

It is our privilege to offer our congregation to assist one another and those in our wider community in celebrating significant moments and rites-of-passage before God and those gathered to witness.

In addition to Rites of Passage, our church also offers support through prayer and care ministries.
