Donation of Church Facilities
It is our privilege to offer our free and loving support to the following community groups:
Compassionate Friends
Parents from all cultural, ethinic and religious backgrounds tragically united by their loss of children meet once a month in our lounge to offer mutual support and care.
Step Groups
Folks wrestling with substance and behavioural addictions meet each week to work through recovery programmes and to offer one another their support.
Family Grief Recovery
Intended to help children who have lost loved ones. Meetings are held each week in order to enable them to express their emotions and so work through their pain towards healing.
Canada Scouting
The 18th Seymour Scouting group is a parent-run youth group, sponsored by NLUC which for the past 50 years have offered them our physical space and spiritual support.
The Scouting groups are:
A Beaver Colony: “Sharing, Sharing, Sharing”
(24 Beavers ages 5-7, 4 leaders)
A Cub Pack “Do your Best”
(34 Cubs ages 8-10 in 2 packs; 8 leaders)
A Scout Troop “Be Prepared”
(20 Scouts ages 11-14; 5 leaders)
Venturers
(10 Venturers ages 14-17; 2 leaders)
Rovers
(5 rovers ages 18-22, 1 leader).
Scouting is based on three broad principles, which represent its fundamental beliefs:
Duty to God, to Others, to Self.
We host an annual Flag Procession during our morning service as well as the annual banquet with over 200 guests. Our Minister serves as the 18th Seymour Chaplain.
